The Arlberg
The village of Pettneu am Arlberg is part of Ski Arlberg, Austria’s largest interconnected ski area with over 300 kilometers of slopes and 88 lifts. The Arlberg – often called the cradle of alpine skiing – is known worldwide for its breathtaking scenery and pioneering spirit in alpine skiing. The ski area is located on the border between Tyrol and Vorarlberg and is known as the “snow hole”: An above-average amount of snow falls here every year. There are runs for all skill levels and unique freeride opportunities, including many with lift access. Cross-country skiers also get their money’s worth here, with 40 kilometers of trails available to them.

The ski bus to St. Anton is only 5 minutes walk from the house, the journey time is 7min to the Nassereinbahn and 10min to the Galzigbahn in St. Anton. Ski, snowboard and ski boots can be stored in the house ski cellar, or free of charge in the depot of Sport Matt, right next to the ski bus stop. Within walking distance you will find a small supermarket and a wellness park, which offers the perfect relaxation after an active day. Thanks to its quiet location and at the same time good accessibility, Pettneu proves to be the ideal place for a family vacation on the Arlberg.
